Every role currently listed at GFTV is voluntary and unpaid, unless a posting says otherwise. Nobody here is paid today, including the people who developed this site.

Why volunteer with GFTV

Every role listed today is unpaid

GFTV is run by volunteers. Every posting on this site is voluntary and unpaid, including the staff and admin roles. We call it Careers@GFTV because it is where the openings are, not because they pay. A role is labelled by how much time it takes, so a full time posting can still be unpaid. If a paid role is ever posted, it will say so on itself.

Learn on real broadcasts

Several of our roles are marked beginner welcome, and they mean it. You would be shown how, on real shoots, by people who learned the same way. Nobody here started out knowing this.

English and Chinese

Every posting is published in English and Chinese, and the globe in the header switches between them. A posting we have not translated yet still appears, marked English only. If a translation reads wrongly, there is a link at the foot of the posting to tell us.

Read before you sign up

Every posting will be public in full. The description, the responsibilities, the requirements, the commitment, and the closing date. An account is only needed for the act of applying.

No approval queue

Applicant accounts are active immediately. There is no approval wait and no email verification, so registering takes a moment.

Built to work offline

Postings you have opened stay readable with no connection, and so do your saved roles and your applications. Careers@GFTV also installs to a home screen like an app.

How applying works

  1. Read the whole posting

    Nothing is hidden behind an account. Read the description, what you would do, and the commitment first. Decide whether it is for you before signing up for anything.

  2. Create an account

    Only needed for the act of applying. It takes a moment and there is no approval queue. We do not use email, so you are given recovery codes instead of a reset link. Keep them.

  3. Fill in the application form

    Applications are handled in Google Forms, which opens in a new tab with your details already filled in. We do not store your answers or your files.

  4. We come back to you here

    Your applications, any tasks we ask you for, and any invitations all appear in your account on this site. Link Telegram later if you would rather be told there too.
